Impartiality Policy
IS EG Halal personnel and top management fully understand the importance of Impartiality in undertaking the certification activities. IS EG Halal will therefore ensure that it will safeguard objectivity and remain impartial in a non-discriminatory manner. To ensure that impartiality is maintained and demonstrated, IS EG Halal has established the following principles: • IS EG Halal on a regular basis conducts risk assessment of all its activities.
• IS EG Halal is committed to adhering to accreditation standards such as ISO/IEC 17065 policies and procedures in certification activities along with any additional certification scheme requirements.
• IS EG Halal personnel are committed to a set of code of conduct that includes integrity and other ethical practices.
• IS EG Halal is committed to providing professional audit and certification certificate by ensuring activities are carried out independently and impartially.
• All evaluation personnel and top management are committed to impartiality and confidentiality.
• IS EG Halal certificates are only issued after a review by independent certification committee.
• IS EG Halal does not pressurize their auditors to meet any financial objectives.
• IS EG Halal provides regular training to its auditors and staff on the importance of impartiality and confidentiality.
• IS EG Halal does not provide any consultation services related to the certification scheme.
• IS EG Halal does not have any relationship with companies offering consultancy.
Individuals employed by or otherwise contracted by IS EG Halal are required to inform, declare, and refuse to be involved in audit and/or certification activities that may present potential (COI). The company will use the information or declaration to identify the threats to impartiality. IS EG Halal will not nominate the individual to certification activities where they have any past relationships. This gap must be maintained for a minimum of 2 years.
