Statement from IS EG Halal Headquarter

We write in light of the disappointing -- and entirely baseless -- verdict from the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York returned on July 16, 2024.

That verdict cannot be justified by either the facts of the case or the governing legal principles. Accordingly, Mr. Wael Hana and his legal team will seek relief from the District Court and, if that is unsuccessful, appeal the case to higher courts, all the up to the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Hana’s legal team is inthe process of drafting the motions for an acquittal or a new trial, which are due on August 19, 2024, citing the multiple errors made by the court and the lack of a legal basis for the conviction. Mr. Hana and his defense remain confident that ultimately justice will prevail in this case.

For the time being at least, Mr. Hana has made the decision to voluntarily step down as Chief Executive Officer and appoint an interim Executive Officer to oversee business operations until all pending legal matters are resolved. As of July 22, 2024 ISEG Halal appointed a new Chief Executive Officer. Currently the Chief Executive Officer is Mrs. Rena Zebi. Mrs. Zebi formally held the position of Global Registration Manager for IS EG Halal. Mrs. Zebi has been a vital member of ISEG Halal since beginning to work with the company in 2021. Mrs. Zebi provides a wealth of experience and a proven track record within the Halal certification industry and IS EG Halal has full confidence in Mrs. Zebi’s ability to guide the company at this current time and build upon the foundation laid out by her predecessor. Nicholas D’Alessio will remain in the company in the role of Vice President. I
